What CNN and BBC Should Know About "The Trumpet Daily" and "The Key to David's City"

Recently Eilat Mazar has announced the discovery of a seal identified as being of King Hezekiah.

Here is CNN reporting on this issue. CNN mentions that the excavations are politically contentions.
Led by Mazar, the team were excavating an ancient dump near the Silwan neighborhood beside the wall that surrounds Jerusalem's Old City.
The site itself, along with the nearby City of David, is contentious, because it is an Israeli archaeological dig in East Jerusalem next to a Palestinian neighborhood. Critics say the dig is politically motivated to extend Jewish claims over East Jerusalem and the Old City: archaeological finds become historical justifications

Here is BBC reporting on this issue.
Eilat Mazar of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Institute of Archaeology said the bulla sealed a document written on a papyrus rolled and tied with thin cords, which left their mark on the back. (BBC News, December 2, 2015.)
The link is to a website entitled "The Key to David's City", a website discussing the archaeological excavations that PCG is involved with. The title alludes to PCG's telecast The Key of David.

Naturally Stephen Flurry was quite happy about all this attention.

These excavations are supported by the Philadelphia Church of God (PCG), an organization founded in 1989 by Gerald Flurry based in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Both The Trumpet Daily's YouTube account and The Key to David's City website are operated by PCG.

An astounding news story awaits any reporter willing to investigate PCG.

Here a few posts about PCG that any such journalist might find helpful.
PCG Tragedy. Discusses a tragic suicide that occurred last year that led to a lot of discussion concerning PCG's infamous no contact policy according to which PCG members are forbidden to contact ex-members or the members of related churches.
Gerald Flurry Says President Obama is an "Antiochus-type" Figure Just Like Tkach. Discusses Gerald Flurry's distinctive version of the "Obama is an Antichrist" idea.
PCG's False Prophecy of "Race War". PCG says African Americans are fated to launch a wave of riots against the white majority before Christ's return. This is a racist false prophecy that will never happen.

PCG's Income in Decline. For 2010: $20.6 Million. In 2012 $19.5 Million. Gerald Flurry let slip this insight regarding PCG's financial affairs in a 2012 booklet.
PCG and Bigotry Against Muslims (Islamophobia). PCG has a long history of vilifying Muslims.
Both PCG's Ron Fraser and Osama bin Laden Wrong About HIV/AIDS's Origins. PCG once incorrectly wrote in a publication of theirs that HIV/AIDS was generated by sexual promiscuity.
PCG Says Osama bin Laden was Right to Condemn America's Sins. PCG leaders bizarrely said that Osama bin Laden had a point in hating the United States.
When PCG's Ron Fraser Said, Death to Australia. PCG's Ron Fraser once insinuated that Australia did not deserve to survive in a 2008 booklet. Strange but true.

Less Than 7000 PCG Members in 1997. PCG's Stephen Flurry mentions that PCG had less than 7000 members in a 1997 article.
PCG Does Not Vote, But Are Far Right Wing. Although PCG does not vote their political views lie far to the right.

PCG Discussing the 2014 War in Gaza. PCG chose to side with the State of Israel in last year's war. Little sympathy was expressed for the Palestinians who endured the vast majority of fatalities and casualties by PCG.
PCG's association with these excavations has been discussed previously.

PCG and the Dark Side of Politicized Archaeology in East Jerusalem. The moral problems of PCG's involvement in archaeological excavations within such a troubled land.
It is very unfortunate that an organization that consistently vilifies the Palestinians who live in the Holy Land should then send members to dig up dirt looking for artifacts right next to some of these Palestinians they condemn.

PCG is so fixated on the precious archaeological artifacts in the ground but PCG has failed to express similar respect towards the Palestinian people who now live there today so near to the archaeological digs.

It is unfortunate that such precious artifacts are now associated with this religious group based in Edmond that has such disturbing tendencies.
